An effective steam inhaler for cold
Steaming
Considering steaming, it is an effective first aid for common cold. It opens the nasal passages and gives relief from the symptoms of a cold or sinus infection. Inhaling the hot water vapour loosen the mucus in the nasal passages, throat and lungs and helps to breath easily.
Steaming not only relieves cold, it also relaxes and gives you a better sleep. It can also open the skin pores and reduces black heads.
During this #covid19 pandemic it is highly recommended by the doctors to steam every day for better breath and improve your immunity.
How to steam?
1. Take a wide bowl
2. Fill half of the bowl with hot water.
3. Lean over the bowl and cover your head with the large bath towel creating a tented seal around you effectively trapping the steam in.
4. Breathing through your nose and mouth for 20 minutes. Take a break every 5 minutes by removing the towel from yourself.
Methods for steaming:
Adding few more ingredients to the plain water can give you more added benefits. Below are few variations of steaming methods.
Steam for cold:
You require
• Water
• Ginger – chopped in succes slices
• Turmeric – 1 tbsp
• Ground pepper – 1 tbspn
Method:
Add ginger pieces, turmeric and ground pepper to water and Boil it well.
Inhale the vapour and you feel it clears your throat giving better breath and sleep. In addition you can also add a little bit of any balms available for cold.
Steam for relaxation:
Required:
1. Boiled water
2. Any essential oil (Eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil, tree tea oil, lavender oil)
Method:
Add 3 to 4 drops of essential oil to the boiled water and inhale the vapour for better relaxation.
